Pet Portraits - Phoebe the Goldie

 Good Morning Everyone!

So, the Government made their announcement detailing their plans for easing lockdown on Monday and with non-essential retail looking to re-open on the 12th April I now have a clearer idea of when I might be returning to work.
After almost a year in and out of furlough I cannot show my gratitude enough to the people who have been commissioning art works from me! I've said it before, but I genuinely appreciate each and every request thrown my way. It's helped in so many ways; to keep me busy through these trying times, to help pay the bills while on a decreased income, to give me a real taste of my goal to be a full-time freelance illustrator and to help make others smile!
I really hope you have all been enjoying these portraits as much as I did creating them!

Now, today's portrait features a gorgeous golden girl!
This smiley face belongs to Phoebe the Golden Retriever, who's Mum deserved a portrait of her as a birthday present! Happy Birthday Helena, hope you had a wonderful birthday!

This A4 Headshot type portrait is coloured using pencils in a traditional style. If you have a furry friend that deserves a portrait like Phoebe, then please get in touch!

Some of you may remember that I tried my hand at recording time lapse videos of my colouring process? It all started with Holly the Chocolate Lab, which you can view here!
Well, I went and had another go with Phoebe and here is the result!
Enjoy!!

Pet Portraits - Chloe the Poodle-cross

 Hey Everyone!
Looks like we're in for a wet and windy weekend here in the SW, best dig out all the dog towels as I foresee lots of wet walkies ahead! Our pup is big enough now that when he shakes himself dry anyone in the splash zone gets soaked! He's not at all bothered by a bit of rain... or mud!

Just like the pooch featuring in today's post!

Chloe, the Poodle cross Maltese Shih Tzu, loved going out in any type of weather; rain, snow, mud -  she loved it! And despite her size she wasn't afraid to muck in with the bigger dogs.

Sadly this is a commemorative portrait as Chloe is no longer with us, but forever remembered fondly. Hopefully with the help of this portrait!

This is an A4 sized Headshot portrait, coloured in a traditional style using Pencil Colours.

If you've a beloved pet that you'd like immortalised in their own personalised portrait, then please get in touch!

Pet Portraits - Poppy the Labrador

 Morning Everyone!

Looks like this cold spell has snapped and we're in for some warmer weather! Shame us here in the south west England missed out on the snow though. I think my Labrador pup would have enjoyed chasing after snowballs!

Today's pet portrait also features a lovely Lab, this gorgeous doe eyed beauty is Poppy!

This A4 traditional style portrait is sadly a commemorative one, commissioned as a gift for Paul, I hope that this helps honour your baby girl's memory.

If you've a beloved pet that you'd like to see immortalised in a portrait like this, then please get in touch!

Pet Portraits - Boo! the Shih Tzu-cross

 Hey Everyone!
How has this week been treating you!?
It seems winter season has finally arrived, late to the party in true UK fashion, hope you're all keeping safe and warm!

Today I'm sharing a portrait of an intrepid little pooch, who's not letting this cold snap deter him or his master from their long early morning ramblings!
This little Bichon Frise cross Shih Tzu is Boo!

This portrait, just like the others I've recently been posting up, is A4 in size and coloured in a traditional style using colouring pencils!

If you know someone who would love a portrait of their pet like this, then please get in touch!

As a side note, you can also see works in progress follow updates and contact me through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Tumblr!

Pet Portraits - Holly the Chocolate Lab

Happy Saturday Everyone!
I hope you all have a fab weekend!?

I shall be spending mine busily scribbling away on yet more Pet Portraits! Business is really booming at the moment and I'm so so very thankful to everyone who has requested and enquired about commissioning me to draw your beloved pet!
I have absolutely adored seeing everyone's furry friends, and to have the opportunity to make so many people happy by immortalising their pets in a portrait has been so lovely! And just what we all need right now, I think!

So to spread that happiness further I'd like to share with you a portrait of a special girl that was sweet like Chocolate!

This is a commemorative portrait of Holly the Lab, who sadly passed away last year. It's A4 in size and coloured traditionally with colouring pencils.

If any of you have been following my work on social media lately, you might have seen that I've ventured into the realms of recording time lapse videos of my colouring process!
I have been asked a few times if I've ever thought to film my colouring process, so I thought I'd give it a go with this one. This is my first attempt at doing so, and there is plenty of room for improvement, so do please excuse any roughness!
I'd previously uploaded this video in two parts, however I have edited the whole thing together to upload to my blog. So, I hope you enjoy the process of how I coloured this commission from start to finish!

Pet Portraits - Mavis the Dachshund!

 Happy 1st of Feb everyone!

I can't believe we're a month into the year already, January seemed to go on forever!

The happy little lady featured in today's post is Mavis the Dachshund!

She's been a very special companion to her human! This portrait wasn't a Christmas commission, rather a belated birthday present for the end of last year! What a little character she is, such a pleasure to draw.

This portrait is A4 in size and coloured in a traditional style using pencil colours.

If you would like to show your appreciation to your furry friend and see them immortalised in a portrait such as this one of Mavis, then please get in touch!
