Totoro Earrings - Handmade Jewellery!

When I needle felted this trio of forest guardians you might have guessed I was a Totoro nut, well I've taken it one step further and done something I've been meaning to do for almost half a year!
I've made Totoro Earrings! :D

(Click here to see needle felted Totoro)

Some of you may have spotted me wearing this set of earrings at Thought Bubble last weekend, and I promised I'd be posting up a blog with photo examples and pricing for anyone who is interested.
Well this is what you've been waiting for!

Each stud is made out of coloured Fimo with the details painted on using acrylics and then varnished with a satin finish. The earring posts are silver Surgical Steel and the backs are soft clear plastic stoppers (as pictured further below).
Please make sure you are able to wear Surgical Steel before ordering, as of yet I do NOT have any Silver or Gold earring posts for those with sensitive ears. Sorry!

Totoro measures approx - 13mm tall x 10mm wide (at the tallest/widest points)
Chu Totoro measures approx - 10mm tall x 6mm wide
Chibi Totoro measures approx - 7mm tall x 5mm wide

I will be making these available as a set of three (6 earrings in total, 2 of each) or as individual pairs, so you can wear each as modelled above by me.

£6 Totoro pair
(not including postage)

£4 Chu Totoro pair
(not including postage)

£2 Chibi Toroto pair
(not including postage)

£10 Set of three
2 of each pictured above, 6 earrings total.
(not including postage)

This is still in the very early stages at the moment so I shall only be taking on limited commissions and will be making them to order.
So if you plan to give these as a christmas gift to someone, please get your orders in early!

My Neighbour Totoro - Needle felted plush toys

After posting up photos yesterday of my latest needle felted creation I couldn't help myself, I took all three Totoro's for a photo shoot in the little park area near my flat.

This is what happened:

If you missed how I made these guys then click here for little white Chibi Totoro, here for blue Chu Totoro, and here for the big grey ball of fur Tororo himself.

If you're a Studio Ghibli fan and have enjoyed seeing this trio come together, then stay tuned! I've ideas for a load more felted Ghibli creations!

The Fruits of Labour - On set photos!!

It's been a while since I've had any come back from the Fruits of Labour shoot, things on set must have been pretty darn hectic. But here are a couple of photos that I've been sent showing my illustrations and how they were used in the film!

Once the film has been finalized in the editing process and is ready for public viewing I shall be able to see my work in it's full glory and obtain my own copy on DVD, and with permission take screen shots featuring my work in full!

Me!!? A hardened criminal!!?

These photos were taken by my younger sister, Gemma Dunkerton. Shes putting together an online portfolio (see links below) and a couple published collections of photos as part of her second year at college. For this trio of photos I volunteered myself to play a part in her collection of mug shots depicting her family and friends.
Shes a keen photographer and took these photos with her very own Sony DSLR with Fish Eye and Zoom lens!

Along with my name, date of birth and height (yes, I'm that short...), the board also features a string of numbers and letters, which on authentic mug shots would refer to the prisoners serial number etc.. But in this case they refer to the year and location of when Gemma first met the person in the photo. In my case she first met me in the year of her birth (1992) at the place of her birth (Yeovil District Hospital).
Gem intends on getting this collection of mug shots published with Blurb by the end of august, and already has a book packed with previous photographic works of art under her belt! (To view/purchase this book see the link to her blurb profile below!)

I've asked her permission to put these pics up on my blog, not only because shes managed to find a camera that actually works for me, but because shes genuinely into making a career out of photography and that's awesome! What more could an older sister do than pimp her work out on my blog!
Now, on with the obligatory list of links!
